Chuchu, Chocho, Chayote plant is the plant that belongs to the gourd family of Cucurbitaceae. Its botanical name is Sechium edule. It is also famous for the names Christophine, Chocho, Pipinola, Pear squash, Vegetable pear, Choko, Mirliton, Sayote, and Chuchu. It looks like a green-colored pear and when cut there is only one seed inside. It is a tender vegetable-fruit that is very mild in taste having good health benefits in it. It is a warmly seasoned crop and grows well in tropical and sub-tropical regions. It tastes like a nutty-flavored squash. Chayote has vine-like stems that grow from a tuberous root and reaches up to 50 feet long. Its leaves are like maple leaves were on it male and female flowers are borne on the same vine.
